Experience

Delivering engineered solutions with blended experience in design, hands on execution, and leadership.

Co-Founder & Lead Engineer

Summit Metal Products · May 2022 – Present · Batavia, IL
  • Planned and executed full engineering scope for $200k+ Bronco modernization projects.
  • Led 2D & 3D CAD development of mounting systems and custom components.
  • Managed a 5-person shop team, delegating assembly tasks, leading testing, and enforcing quality standards.
  • Coordinated 6 primary vendors and 4 fabrication partners to meet quality, cost, and timeline requirements.
  • Tracked build costs and procurement, enforcing a $120k build-cost cap while maintaining margins.
  • Directed design decisions for complete vehicle systems: drivetrain selection, gearing/ratio analysis, suspension configuration, thermal management, electrical architecture, and controls integration.
  • Developed engine integration solutions for modern powertrains (Ford Coyote | EFI Converted 289) and coordinated controls requirements for engines not yet commercially supported.
  • Conducted 7 system-level V&V tests to validate reliability, performance, and drivability.
  • Generated engineering documentation (wiring schematics, procedures, BOMs) to maintain requirements traceability across all subsystems.

Store Manager

Sweet Home Gelato · Jun 2018 – May 2021 · Naperville, IL
  • Supervised ~15 employees, managed training, scheduling, and performance.
  • Oversaw daily cash operations between $1–7k.
  • Maintained equipment to ensure a streamlined workflow.

Selected Projects

Highlights spanning mechanical & electrical achievements

1968 Ford Bronco Build

  • Designed and executed a modernization of a 1968 Bronco, integrating EFI powertrain control, CAN-based subsystem communication, overhauled wiring, and electronic accessories throughout the vehicle.
  • Implemented luxury and performance upgrades including power steering, power disc brakes, heated and cooled leather seating, full air conditioned HVAC, Bluetooth-enabled Morel audio, and digital instrumentation.
  • Fabricated custom mechanical systems for the EFI fuel loop, vapor management, cooling and serpentine assembly, and deeply interconnected electronics; all AN-plumbed, Deutsch connected, and service-friendly.

1974 Jeep CJ5 — Show Winner

  • Restoration recognized for design & craftsmanship; earned 2nd in its class at the Chicago Auto Show (2022).
  • Completed a frame-off revival of a 1974 CJ5 with a focus on retaining classic form while improving reliability, capability, and drivability.
  • Added select modern amenities including updated lighting, integrated audio, and electronic instrumentation.
  • Rebuilt AMC 304 V8, with mild roller cam shaft, paired with a rebuilt Borg-Warner T15 3 Speed Transmission.

Smart Lighting Controller (ECE)

  • LDR-threshold lighting with op-amp comparator and relay actuation; tuned for stable switching and noise immunity.
  • Bench-tested with adjustable thresholds; designed PCB and enclosure layout for durability and ease of wiring.

Autonomous Can Stamping Machine

  • Built an automated stamping machine to process aluminum cans with consistent spacing and feed control.
  • Integrated sensors, actuation, and motion controls to synchronize material handling and stamping cycles.

Connected RC Car Chassis & Analog Circuits

  • Designed a Wi-Fi connected RC car chassis with integrated control architecture and mechanical packaging.
  • Built analog electronics projects including a synchronized emergency light flasher circuit and an op-amp audio amplifier with adjustable EQ gains.
